USAgE POLICY

 
  1. Please e-mail on the contact mentioned below about your specific requirements.
  2. You will be contacted by Lab staff to schedule a walk-through and/or basic training. However, likely further training as well as demonstrations of both skills and knowledge will be required before users are allowed into the facility themselves without an escort or permitted to utilize instrumentation regardless of any prior expertise or experience.
  3. After an initial visit, we request that new users supplement their knowledge about our facility: Sample Preparation, Molecular Studies and Data Analysis. Follow Biosafety and Biohazard policies.
  4. Schedule Individual Training with Lab instruments online. Prior to this training, read through our Sample Protocols, Quick Start Guides, and Online Manuals.
  5. Users and staff will act in an inclusive, friendly and respectful manner with other facility users in all situations. Immediately walk away once safe to do so and alert staff members if any problem is brewing or has occurred.
  6. Users may only access instrumentation appropriate to the level of their training. Only Lab staff and Super-Users may train individuals on instrument use.
  7. You must follow SOPs of all instruments. Get help from a staff member or a Super-User if you don’t know what to do next. Do not use USB drives or install software on any computers. Do not reorganize labs or remove items from labs, causing resources to “go missing”. Likewise, do not leave any lab with its door open. Finally, CLEAN UP after yourself and put things back where found.
  8. Use of instrumentation requires a reservation. Experiments must also be completed when planned. You must arrive within 60 min of your start time unless Lab staff are notified ahead of time.
  9. At all times, drinking, eating, grooming (e.g. hair, skin, lips) is not allowed in laboratory.
